So we travelled from Cairns to Walkamin by coach yesterday afternoon. When we arrived we had to wait half an hour for Jack the owner of the farm to pick us up. Whilst waiting we got to know other candidates. Jack arrived in his 200 year old mini bus to take us to the farm.

As we arrived we noticed there wasn't any sign of life around, just farm land and all kinds of fruit. Jack showed us to our rooms in which we would live for the next few months. They had everything a room should have; beds, fridge, tv and storage.

We was informed that we would have an introduction first thing in the morning so getting our heads down for the night was a most. We woke up around 8.30am, cooked breakfast and ready to rock and roll by 9.00am. We was waiting around until 11.30 to be taken to a farm for our introduction. This introduction never happened. It had been moved to 3.30pm.
I will be honest with everyone, i came to experience this country and try new things, i wanted to do fruit picking, but this style of life just wan't for me. Even though our rooms were quiet clean and the people seem very friendly i couldn't stay. The money we would earn was only good because there isn't anything to do here, not one female for us to get to know or alcohol to drink. no pubs.. no nothing. just a group of lads going to work to come home to nothing.

Some people might like the idea of going to work and coming home to play some cards and watch the same movie over and over again. Not me. They didn't even have internet at this place. Freddie and Brad have both stayed at the farm to earn some cash. Fair play to them both.
